JOB OVERVIEW
FTAI Aviation's Component Repair Business Unit (CRBU) is expanding its machining capabilities and is seeking a CNC Programming Specialist to support our machining operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for CNC programming, machining process development, tooling and fixture optimization, and technical support to production. Working closely with machinists, production supervisors, and engineering teams, you will help improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability across our component repair operations.
This position combines CNC programming expertise with methods-related responsibilities, making it ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys both programming and process improvement.
Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and grinding operations.

Create setup sheets, work instructions, and tooling documentation.

Develop and improve fixture and workholding solutions.

Support machinists in troubleshooting machining and programming challenges.

Optimize cutting parameters, tooling selection, and machining strategies.

Conduct cycle time reviews and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Support the introduction of new repair processes and machining methods.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.
Qualifications:

DEC in Mechanical Manufacturing, Machining Techniques, Industrial Manufacturing, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming, machining process development, or manufacturing methods within an aerospace, automotive, precision machining, or similar industrial environment.

Experience with CNC programming software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, or similar systems.

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and workholding.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Knowledge of ERP systems, and strong competency in MS Office.

Functional French and English required.
