Great West Radon is expanding in Edmonton, and we’re hiring a mechanically skilled, tool‑proficient installer who is ready to move quickly into a full Radon Mitigator role. This is not an entry‑level labour position. We are looking for someone with real construction or mechanical experience who can step into a fast‑paced, technical trade and advance quickly.

What You’ll Do
As an Radon Mitigation Installer, you’ll play a vital role in providing high-quality installations for our clients. Tasks include:
- Perform radon mitigation installations in residential and light commercial settings
- Drill through concrete slabs, rim joists, and foundations
- Run PVC piping, mount fans, seal penetrations, and complete full system builds
- Use power tools confidently and safely (hammer drills, impacts, saws, vacuums, etc.)
- Diagnose suction points, airflow, and system performance
- Maintain clean, safe, professional job sites
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with homeowners
- Work independently once trained, with full support from our operations team
Who We’re Looking For (Strict Requirements)
Strong Tool Experience:
You must be confident with:
- Hammer Drills
- Impacts/drivers
- Saws
- Concrete drilling or coring
- General construction tools
Mechanical or construction background:
Examples include:
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Concrete work
- Renovations
- Mechanical trades
Physical Aptitude:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable on ladders
- Able to work in basements, crawlspaces (tight spaces), and outdoors
Positive Attitude:
- Formal education isn’t required – just a can-do spirit and dedication to learning.
Team Player:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.
Reliable Transportation:
- While training, a personal vehicle to travel to job sites is essential.
- Once all necessary criteria is met to achieve certification, a company truck will be provided.
Safety-minded, professional, and customer facing:
This role requires entering clients’ homes and representing our company directly.
You must be:
- A clear, confident communicator
- Personable and respectful with homeowners
- Able to explain what you’re doing in simple, professional terms
- Someone who maintains a clean appearance and professional conduct
- Fully aligned with our zero‑tolerance policy for substance use on job sites
If you do not have real tool experience, a construction/mechanical background, or the ability to communicate professionally with clients, this role is not a fit.
Compensation Structure
During Training (Until Certification):
- Daily Rate: $150/day (covers first 6 hours)
- Overtime: $20/hour after 6 hours
After Certification (Full Mitigator):
- Daily Rate: $250/day (covers first 6 hours)
- Overtime: $31.25/hour after 6 hours
Most candidates with strong tool and construction backgrounds progress through training quickly.
Key Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shifts (weekends available if desired).
- Work Hours: Typical shifts run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
- Location: Edmonton, AB (and surrounding areas)
