Port Hardy Harvest Food Bank is responsible for getting food to those who need it on the North Island. Our building on Market street is the hub of our operations. We Are seeking a Full-time employee to work in warehouse and thrift store, and drive our vehicles to pick up and deliver food.
Duties include: driving truck, picking up food from Save on Foods, IGA, Island Foods, unloading trucks, moving food around on pallet jacks, weighing food donations, washing dirty bins, sorting food (including separating good food from rotten food), sorting thrift store donations and lifting boxes of food. Operating the store cash register, sorting incoming thrift store donations, and restocking thrift store shelves.

NOTE - air brake endorsement is not required. All you need to drive our vehicles is a class 5 drivers license.
Full availability is a MUST. The right candidate will regularly work 5 days a week, 8am-4pm, and will include weekends.
Being familiar with the operation of a 1ton truck, pallet jacks and forklifts are all assets - but not required. We can teach all the necessary skills.
The right candidate needs to be punctual, have a positive attitude, and be prepared to integrate into a small team environment.
Please note - this is a physical job. You need to be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
