We are seeking a Project Manager to lead municipal and civil infrastructure projects within the City of Calgary and surrounding area. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from tender handover through final invoicing, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable delivery.
The Project Manager will work closely with field crews, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and performance. Estimating support is required during pre-construction, but the primary focus of this role is execution, cost control, and client satisfaction.

Lead civil construction projects from award through close-out, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Develop, manage, and update project schedules in coordination with field leadership.

Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to ensure efficient project execution.

Manage project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and financial performance.

Prepare and reconcile progress billings, field measurements, and final invoicing.

Identify cost variances, manage change orders, and implement corrective actions as required.

Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance and scope clarity.

Maintain proactive communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety performance.

What you Bring
-
A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in heavy civil or municipal construction
-
Experience delivering shallow utilities, roadworks, or infrastructure projects is preferred
-
CET or P.Eng. (Civil or Electrical preferred), or equivalent construction experience
-
PMP designation or intent to pursue certification is considered an asset

Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings

Demonstrated experience managing project budgets and cost controls

Experience supervising or coordinating construction crews

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)

Experience with Ineight/Hard Dollar (estimating software) and Microsoft D365considered an asset

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
