Job description:
The award winning Aegir Room in the award winning Oswego Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. This position requires strong leadership abilities, a commitment to food safety, and a dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences. MUST be able to work primarily evening shifts (approx 3-10pm)
Responsibilities
- Ensure all food handling and preparation complies with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that align with restaurant standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, preferably in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise kitchen staff effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Previous experience in bartending is an advantage but not required.

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
