About the Role
The Receiver supports the safe, accurate, and organized flow of ingredients and supplies through our Production Kitchen. In this role, you will receive deliveries, verify dates and quantities, rotate stock, prepare products for upcoming production, and help keep refrigerated and dry storage areas clean, safe, and ready for service. This position is well suited to someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment where accuracy, teamwork, and food safety matter every day.
This role is hands-on and physically active. It involves repetitive tasks, careful attention to detail, extended periods of standing, and work in refrigerated areas. We provide training, safe work procedures, and required personal protective equipment to help team members work safely and confidently throughout their shift.
What You’ll Do
- Date stamps all products received, checks all dates and ensure product placement is in the appropriate storage location, rotating all stock.
- Thaws on carts/racks all products needed by Assembly Panners in a neat and orderly fashion on the cart indicated for the appropriate menu day.
- Works with Assembly Panner to complete thaw (Pull) sheets to ensure product is thawed in the minimum time required and that all products are held in safe temperatures.
- Works with Assembly Panner to facilitate efficient panning processes.
- Keeps all storage areas neat and clean from debris; all items are placed off the floors; mops floors daily; removes empty boxes, containers and recycles as appropriate.
- Conducts physical inventories on designated days and places orders as required for produce, milk, bread, smallwares as predetermined by the quantities required.
- Works closely with supervisor to ensure the right products arrives in time for the designated meals.
- Take every reasonable precaution to protect your own health and safety and the health and safety of others in the workplace, and immediately report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
- Follow all food safety, infection prevention, environmental, and workplace health and safety requirements, including safe lifting, slip and trip prevention, cross-contamination prevention, required PPE use, and respectful communication.
What You’ll Bring
- No formal education is required; paid training is provided.
- Ability to communicate in English well enough to understand work instructions, food safety procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- A strong commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
- Physical requirements: This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, work in refrigerated areas, and safely lift, carry, push, or move items up to 50 lbs with appropriate equipment, training, or assistance where required.
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safely handle chemicals, and use required PPE.
- A reliable, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
