IDEA Lab Kids St. Albert is looking for enthusiastic, confident, and outgoing instructors to lead unforgettable birthday parties for children. From slime-making and science experiments to art projects and engineering challenges, our birthday parties are hands-on, engaging, and instructor-led from start to finish.
As a Birthday Party Instructor, you will be the face of the celebration, guiding activities, managing groups of children, and ensuring every family has an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead hands-on birthday party activities such as slime-making, science experiments, art, and engineering projects
- Create a fun, energetic, and well-structured party atmosphere
- Engage and manage groups of children, typically ages 5–10
- Set up and prepare materials before each party
- Clean up and reset the space afterward
- Coordinate with assistants to keep the party running on schedule
- Interact professionally and warmly with parents and guests
- Help deliver a memorable birthday experience for every family
Qualifications
This role is all about energy, confidence, and presence.
Must-Have Qualities:
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, and great with kids
- Confident leading groups and speaking in front of people
- Strong classroom and group management skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to think on your feet and adapt quickly
- Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with children (camps, tutoring, coaching, childcare, etc.)
- Education or coursework in child development, education, recreation, or related fields
- Experience hosting events, performing, or leading activities
- Valid drivers license
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Available to work weekends, and occasionally evenings
- Reliable transportation to and from IDEA Lab Kids St. Albert
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Successful candidates aged 18+ must complete or submit a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
