Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our convenience store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing fuel transactions, assisting customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth operation. Bilingual skills and familiarity with retail sales and POS systems are highly valued to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling their vehicles efficiently
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Provide product information and conduct product demos when necessary
- Upsell additional items such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories to increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, fuel area, and equipment to ensure safety and hygiene standards
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
- Handle cashier duties including basic math calculations and cash handling accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers, including phone etiquette for inquiries or assistance
- Organize merchandise displays and ensure proper signage is visible
- Follow safety protocols and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Familiarity with POS systems and merchandising practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated professionalism with good phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Multilingual skills are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
