Position Title: Case Manager, Women’s Second Stage Housing
Reporting Relationship: Second Stage Program Manager
Hours: 32 hours per week, Sunday – Wednesday (Final schedule to be determined with
selected candidate)
Benefits: Competitive salary with benefits after a three-month probationary period,

Hourly Wage: $30/hour
Cowichan Women Against Violence Society (CWAVS) is seeking a Case Manager for our
Women’s Second Housing program. Our second-stage housing program offers a
transitional environment where women can rebuild their lives, develop independence,
and gain the skills needed for long-term stability. The team provides safe and supportive
housing for women and children who have experienced domestic violence or other
forms of trauma. Our program has suites for women with up to 5 children as well as
studio suites.
Case Manager for our Women’s Second Stage program supports clients in navigating the
complexities of trauma recovery while fostering a secure and nurturing environment
that encourages clients to access wraparound resources and build resilience. The Case
Manager works with clients to ensure they meet their goals and milestones geared
towards successful transition into the next stage of housing.

About the Role
The Case Manager, Women’s Second Stage (Kwi Lelum – Rise House), supports clients in rebuilding their lives through client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally safe approaches. This role ensures that clients are supported in achieving their goals and developing life skills that lead to long-term housing stability. The Case Manager works closely with the Second Stage Program Manager and collaborates with a broader support team to promote healing, empowerment, and wraparound care.
Key Responsibilities
Team Engagement
- Promote feminist, trauma-informed, and inclusive practices.
- Foster an equitable, diverse, and respectful workplace.
- Collaborate with team members to support programming as needed.

Client Services – Initial Contact & Support
- Assess program suitability for prospective clients.
- Share safety planning resources and program information.
- Support with client intake and move-in coordination.
Client Services – Ongoing Support & Case Management
- Provide emotional support using trauma-informed approaches.
- Work with clients one-on-one and in groups to set goals and build life skills.
- Deliver workshops and group activities that support independence and healing.
- Facilitate referrals and access to community supports.
- Support community living and address concerns through regular meetings with residents.
Administrative & Facility Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely client documentation in accordance with CWAVS policies.
- Contribute to a safe working and living environment by following CWAVS health and safety procedures.
What You Bring
Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma or higher in social services, counselling, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and anti-violence practices.
- Experience working with women and children who have experienced violence.
- Strong de-escalation, conflict resolution, and mediation skills.
- Knowledge of local community resources is an asset.

- Strong documentation and organizational abilities.
- Experience facilitating groups and working with community partners.
- Commitment to client-centered, respectful, and non-judgmental support.

- Cultural humility and the ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
Other Requirements:
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
