Operator ($18.50/hr)
About the Role:
As an Operator in the durable goods manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production machinery and equipment. Your primary focus will be to maintain consistent product quality while meeting production targets and adhering to safety standards. You will be responsible for monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime. Collaboration with team members and supervisors will be essential to optimize workflow and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, your work will contribute directly to the manufacturing of high-quality durable goods that meet customer specifications and industry regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating manufacturing machinery or in a production environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in machine operation or industrial maintenance.
- Experience in durable goods manufacturing or a related industrial sector.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation.
- Proficiency in using computerized production tracking systems.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor manufacturing machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure machines are functioning optimally.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues promptly to minimize production delays.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or incidents to supervisors.
- Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to uphold product standards and improve processes.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety protocols and participate in safety training sessions.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of equipment for new production runs or product changes.
