Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Administrator/Receptionist to join our Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and proficiency in various dental software systems. The Dental Administrator/Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate record-keeping, and exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments using electronic medical records systems.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages effectively
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately within the practice management software
- Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently at the front desk
- Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for upcoming procedures or visits
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize daily patient flow and reduce wait times
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless communication between clinical and administrative teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Administrator/Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental office setting
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix; experience with Curve is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and office equipment including multi-line phone systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly professional demeanor
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working with insurance verification, billing, or collections is preferred
- Knowledge of dental office procedures and administrative best practices is highly desirable
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
