Field Service Technician – Newfoundland & Labrador
Welcome to the role of Field Service Technician. This position is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical, electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation background and a passion for problem-solving. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and commissioning services for generators, diesel engines, pumping equipment, instrumentation systems, and related industrial equipment throughout Newfoundland and Labrador and across the Atlantic region. As the Field Service Technician, you are responsible for:

Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, preventative repairs, lubrication, and adjustments on generators, diesel engines, and pumping equipment.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation system failures on-site. Repairs: Install, replace, and fix defective parts and components to ensure optimal system performance.
- Calibration & Tuning: Calibrate, configure, and commission flowmeters, transmitters, and analytical instrumentation to guarantee precise process measurement.
- Controls Integration: Diagnose and program basic programmable logic controller (PLC) configurations and variable frequency drive (VFD) parameters.
- Documentation: Prepare service reports, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and submit documents promptly.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent with formal training in electrical or mechanical systems.

Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Technology is considered a strong asset.

Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.

Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and loop sheets.

Knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices.

Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.

Ability to pass a background check.

Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including multi-day trips, remote site visits, and occasional international travel.

Availability to participate in on-call rotations and support emergency service requirements.
