This position supports children and youth living in the Ben Calf Robe Society Group Homes. Specific homes working with children. The Child and Youth Worker supports vulnerable and/or HIGH RISK children and youth through individual, group support and outreach, increasing life skills, social networks and safety using a harm reduction model. Specific supports provided include, but are not limited to, meal planning preparation and clean-up, personal and hygiene training support and care, and transportation. Facility cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.
Shift Work: Sunday to Saturday 8 hr. SHIFT WORK
Experience:
-Group Care Experience Required (0-12 years old) (13-17years old)
Education and Skill Requirements
-Post Secondary education in a related field or the equivalent combination and experience.
-Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
-Experience working with children, youth, and families.
-Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, clients and stakeholders.
-Be able to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects while carrying out ongoing responsibilities.
-Commitment to confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
-Advanced skills in windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Etc.) Keyboarding skills 45 wpm.
-Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail relating to assigned responsibilities.

Summary
As a Child & Youth Care Worker, you will be instrumental in supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children and youth, particularly those with disabilities. Reporting to the program supervisor, your core responsibility will be to create a safe and nurturing environment while utilizing your experience with children. Your premium skills will enhance your ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, and your relevant teaching skills will aid in fostering educational growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications will support your administrative tasks, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care and development.
