Main Responsibilities
- Proactively source, price, and issue purchase orders for essential materials, supplies, tools, and equipment rentals to support various projects.
- Meticulously review quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and expertly submit them for approval.
- Take charge of issuing and managing purchase orders, including diligent follow-ups, to guarantee timely delivery and efficiently process order confirmations and acknowledgements.
- Coordinate service and subcontract orders with project managers; create POs with a clear scope of work, and follow up with job sites and vendors to manage the order until it is closed.
- Collaborate effectively with buyers and engage in cross-training to enhance departmental synergy.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendor invoices promptly to maintain smooth operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive material pricing databases, ensuring that all information and costs remain current.
- Support the internal shops: help with placing orders, maintain the MTT, perform weekly and semi-weekly stock replenishments, and assist with rental orders.
- Completing data entry tasks: filling purchase orders, completing order details for buyers, receiving packing slips in Eclipse, and updating the database.
- Focus on managing and enhancing areas that need better coordination and organization.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 year of purchasing and/or trade experience, showcasing your expertise in the field.
- Proven knowledge and experience working with local electrical and piping/mechanical vendors.
- Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, PPE, and hardware is a significant advantage.
- Experience in the contracting or construction industry will be considered a strong asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are required to ensure accuracy in your work.
- College Diploma is preferred to complement your practical experience.
