We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic dermatology team. Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide direct patient care and clinical support within a medical and surgical dermatology setting. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, performing nursing assessments, providing patient education, supporting clinical trials, and ensuring safe and efficient clinic operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
· Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately in the EMR.
· Assist physicians with dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and intralesional injections.
· Provide wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative follow-up care.
· Administer medications and injections within LPN scope of practice.
· Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
· Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent patient concerns.
Clinical Operations
· Prepare examination and procedure rooms.
· Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
· Assist with phototherapy treatments as required.
Research Support (Asset)
· Assist with clinical trial activities including patient visits, documentation, specimen handling, and study procedures.
· Maintain compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
Documentation
· Maintain accurate, timely, and professional charting.
· Utilize Accuro EMR for patient documentation and communication.
· Support efficient communication among physicians, nursing staff, and patient care coordinators.
QualificationsRequired
· Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
· Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
· Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Preferred Assets
· Experience in dermatology, surgical nursing, ambulatory care, wound care, plastic surgery, or medical aesthetics.
· Experience with phototherapy treatments.
· Clinical research experience.
· Experience using Accuro EMR.
