COY'S PAR 3 GOLF & BISTRO
Bistro Cook
Full-Time & Part-Time · Fairmont Hot Springs, BC · Reports to: Executive Chef
At Coy's, we take our food seriously — but not ourselves. We're a par 3 golf course and bistro tucked into the Columbia Valley, and we believe great food and a great time go hand in hand. We're looking for a skilled, passionate Bistro Cook who's ready to bring the heat (literally) and be part of a team that has a lot of fun doing it right.
If you're the kind of cook who cares about every plate that leaves the pass, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and wants to work somewhere with fresh mountain air, good vibes, and golf course views — read on.
What You'll Do
Cook & Execute
- Execute recipes and plating standards with precision during service
- Coordinate timing so every item in an order hits the pass together, hot and on point
- Monitor food quality and temps — nothing leaves the kitchen below standard
- Crush high-volume rushes without losing your cool (or the quality)
Prep & Organization
- Prep and stock your station so you're set up to win before service even starts
- Follow portioning specs and mise en place like a pro
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout your shift
Close & Clean
- Complete closing duties per checklist — leave the kitchen better than you found it
- Follow all food safety, storage, and sanitation protocols (no cutting corners here)
What We're Looking For
You've got:
- 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen is preferred, but we can train the willing candidate
- The ability to stay calm and focused when the tickets are stacking
- Sharp attention to detail — you notice when something's off
- Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to get it within 30 days)
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in golf club, resort, or upscale casual dining
- Comfort with kitchen equipment maintenance basics
Physical Requirements
- Standing for 8 hours in a hot, fast-moving kitchen environment
- Lifting up to 50 lbs (produce cases, equipment — we'll all help)
- Working through peak service heat like the professional you are
What's in It for You
- Competitive hourly wage + tip sharing
- Staff meals on shift — eat well while you cook well
- Golf course privileges — because perks should actually be fun
- A tight-knit, supportive team that celebrates wins and has your back
- Real opportunities to grow as the business grows
