We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to join our growing rehabilitation team. This position combines hands-on clinical care with community-based rehabilitation, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working within a collaborative healthcare environment.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors in implementing treatment plans.
- Deliver therapeutic exercises and treatment programs under the direction of regulated healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to supervising clinicians.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure equipment is clean, organized and safe.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Promote patient comfort, safety and positive treatment outcomes.
Community Rehabilitation:
- Provide treatment and rehabilitation services in clients' homes and community settings.
- Travel within the GTA to deliver rehabilitation services.
- Support patients in achieving functional goals and maximizing independence.
- Maintain timely documentation following each community visit.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule client appointments and coordinate treatment services.
- Assist with treatment plans, reports and clinical documentation.
- Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, legal representatives, employers and healthcare providers.
- Support MVA, WSIB and Extended Health Care (EHC) rehabilitation files.
- Maintain confidential electronic client records.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) program.
- Minimum 1 year of Canadian rehabilitation clinic experience.
- Experience working with MVA, WSIB and Extended Health Care rehabilitation programs.
- Strong understanding of rehabilitation documentation and treatment planning.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Preferred
- Experience providing community-based rehabilitation services.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation clinic software and electronic medical records.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (an asset for community visits).
