Description
- Lead all daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and execution.
- Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing culinary team while creating an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and motivated to succeed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, hire, mentor, develop, and retain top culinary talent while identifying and developing future leaders within the kitchen leadership team.
- Oversee scheduling, labour planning, purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory management, and food cost performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve kitchen organization, operational efficiency, and consistency through effective systems and processes.
- Partner with operational leadership to achieve business objectives and elevate the overall guest experience.
- Contribute to menu enhancements, seasonal features, and culinary programming while maintaining brand standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and all regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence during service while supporting the team through high volume periods.
Requirements
- Progressive culinary leadership experience within a high-volume restaurant, hospitality, or premium casual dining environment.
- Proven success leading, mentoring, and developing culinary teams while creating an engaged, accountable workplace culture.
- Strong understanding of labour management, food cost controls, purchasing, vendor management, inventory control, and overall kitchen financial performance.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational systems, strengthen team performance, and maintain consistently high standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A engaging leadership style with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
- Experience implementing operational improvements and process efficiencies is considered an asset.
- Comfortable using POS systems, inventory software, Microsoft Office, and other operational technology.
- Food Safe Certification or equivalent is preferred.
