Job description and tasks
In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, the role also includes:
- Involvement in pedagogical days organized by the College
- Participation in departmental meetings
- Involvement in student-focused activities such as field trips, competitions, and year-end Graduate Exhibition.
- Performing other department related administrative duties
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in English (or an equivalent Master's degree with a focus on literary and textual analysis plus a BA in English)
- Equivalent Master's degrees may include but are not limited to Creative Writing, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, American Studies, Canadian Studies, Theatre, English and Publishing, Rhetoric and Composition, Ethnic Studies, Literary and Textual Studies, Comparative Literature, Digital Humanities, Literary Translation, or other relevant graduate degrees.
- Excellent English communication skills
- Please include a rationale in your cover letter that outlines how your studies, teaching experience, or research prepare you to teach literature in English at the CEGEP level.
Assets
- General Knowledge of French
- TESL certificate
- Teaching experience at the College level
