The Role
We are looking for a commercially minded, relationship-driven leader to build and own the business development function at this organization. This is a ground-floor role — you will define the strategy, build the systems, and execute against growth targets across our existing and future customer segments. You will work directly with the physician owners and leadership team and integrate into our EOS operating cadence from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of how each of our customer segments thinks, what drives referral and engagement behaviour, and how to create lasting relationships across them.
Physician & Community Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and grow strong relationships with family physicians, specialists, nurse practitioners, and clinic managers
- Conduct regular in-person visits, meetings, and educational touchpoints
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for referral processes, service updates, and issue resolution
- Address physician and clinic pain points proactively and professionally
Marketing, Events & Education
- Plan and execute physician events, education sessions, and community initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams on campaigns, messaging, and materials
- Ensure consistent, clear, and compliant messaging across all channels
- Gather and relay market intelligence and competitor insights
- Online interaction metrics
- Provide regular, structured reporting to leadership with insights and recommendations
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams
- Share frontline insights to improve operations, service delivery, and patient experience
- Support a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in a business development, physician relations, or growth leadership role — ideally in healthcare, but exceptional candidates from other industries will be considered
- Demonstrated experience in an EOS/Traction environment is a major plus — either as a leadership team member or as an operator within a Traction-run organization
- Proven ability to build and manage relationship pipelines with sophisticated stakeholders (physicians, administrators, executives)
- Strong commercial instincts : you understand how revenue flows, what levers drive growth, and how to build a business case
- Excellent communicator : comfortable presenting to physician owners, facilitating external meetings, and writing clearly
- High integrity, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
- Familiarity with Ontario's healthcare landscape, OHIP billing structure, or physician-run private practices is an advantage
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
