The Clarkson Pump & Patio
About Us
The Clarkson Pump & Patio is a well-established, high-energy restaurant within The Pump Group.
We’re known for great food, genuine hospitality, and creating memorable experiences — from lively weekend service to private events, music bingo, trivia nights, chef’s dinners, and seasonal celebrations. This location plays an important role within our group and often helps shape how we operate, host, and grow.
The Pump Group is a growing hospitality company built on strong culture, solid systems, and the belief that restaurants should be both fun to work in and well run.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a modern hospitality leader — someone hungry, curious, and driven — who wants to grow with us.
This role is perfect for someone who:
- Understands the operation inside and out
- Leads from the floor, not from the office
- Is tech-savvy, organized, and comfortable using systems to make life easier
- Believes great leadership is about setting the standard, not barking orders
- Enjoys variety — from regular service to events and special programming
You do not need 20 years of GM experience. In fact, we’d rather teach the right person how we do things than un-teach bad habits.

- Work with leadership and marketing to ensure events run smoothly
- Balance guest experience with operational flow and team well-being
People & Training
- Hire, train, and support supervisors and hourly team members
- Build schedules that balance performance, labour targets, and sustainability
- Run regular check-ins, coaching conversations, and performance reviews
- Be actively involved in onboarding and training
Financial & Business Acumen
- Understand and manage key KPIs (sales, labour, prime cost, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to improve performance without compromising experience
- Take ownership of results and continuous improvement
Technology & Systems
- Use POS, scheduling, reporting, and communication tools effectively
- Maintain strong systems in a fast-moving environment
- Help refine processes that can support long-term growth
