Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant to support speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality care. This role involves assisting with patient assessments, therapy sessions, and documentation within a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in communication disorders and possess relevant skills to contribute effectively to patient progress and well-being.
Duties
- Assist speech-language pathologists during patient evaluations and therapy sessions
- Prepare and organize therapy materials and equipment for sessions
- Support patients of all ages, including pediatric populations, in their communication exercises
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Help monitor patient safety and comfort throughout treatment sessions
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure cohesive patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in acute care or pediatric settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to communication disorders is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Certification or coursework related to speech-language pathology or communicative disorders is a plus
