We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials over short or long distances while adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties:
- Safely operate a heavy truck to transport goods from one location to another
- Load and unload cargo following proper procedures when required
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules as requested
- Perform vehicle mechanical and safety pre/post trip inspections
- Maintain accurate driving logs using electronic logging devices while also being competent using manual logs
- Follow all laws and national safety regulations and standards
Skills:
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be punctual, motivated, reliable, flexible and able to work in a team-oriented environment
- Must provide a Clean C.V.O.R. abstract within the past 6 months as well as maintain a clean record while being employed
- Must understand and abide by hour of service rules and regulations as per MTO guidelines
- The ability to present yourself in a professional and courteous way
- Minimum one-year commercial driving experience is required
- Proficiency in handling various types of freight/setting and maintaining reefer temperatures
- Ability to operate pump trucks, fork trucks is an asset
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift up to 60lbs safely
- Knowledge of basic automotive repair is a plus
This role requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The successful candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, and have excellent time management skills.
