Summary
We are seeking a skilled Light Duty Mechanic to join our team in Fort McMurray. Based in, this role is vital in maintaining and repairing our vehicle fleet to uphold the company's standards of excellence. Your expertise will contribute directly to our mission of providing top-tier industrial solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the General Manger the duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Mechanic include but are not limited to the following:
*Perform general maintenance and repairs on our freightliner and ford engine trucks, skidsteer
*Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of vehicles
*Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer's specifications
*Use computer diagnostic and other testing equipment to diagnose faults or malfunction
*Test repaired equipment for proper performance and make sure that work meets manufacturer specifications
*Ability to keep records of repairs, time and parts used for the servicing of heavy, special purpose automotive equipment, and to make related reports
*Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
*Liaise with other department leaders to prioritize jobs
*Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
*Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials
*Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices
*Complete daily job hazard assessments and ensure workplace safety is prioritized
*Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a Plant environment
*Some call-in hours may be required to attend to emergencies
· Driving motor vehicles and light duty trucks is required

Minimum Requirements:
· Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic / Journeyman Auto mechanic
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience
· Alberta Full Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
· Experience with freightliner and ford engines
· Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty details
· Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
· Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and regular vehicles
· Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports
· Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others
· Candidate will have to have own tools and will be given an annual tool allowance as well
