As we scale our operations, we are looking for a technical leader to uphold our standards of craftsmanship and code compliance on the shop floor.
Position Overview:
This is a Working Lead position (80% hands-on, 20% supervisory). You will be the technical anchor for our wiring department, spending the majority of your time on high-level wiring and assembly while providing the oversight, code compliance, and team mentorship necessary to keep the shop floor running efficiently. You report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production (80%): Perform intricate wiring, protection scheme integration, and assembly of custom low and medium voltage switchgear. Set the pace and quality standard for the team through hands-on work.
- Supervision & Oversight (20%): Manage daily task assignments for a small team of Wiring Technicians. Troubleshoot technical issues on the floor and ensure all work meets engineering schematics and quality standards.
- Code Compliance: Act as the primary authority for CEC and CSA code compliance within the wiring department.
- Mentorship: Support and train junior wiring technicians in best practices, terminations, and safety protocols.
- Engineering Liaison: Communicate directly with the Engineering department to resolve design conflicts and clarify schematic requirements.
- Expert Field Support: Provide occasional on-site support, rework, or component installation.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial electrical environment.
- Industrial Expertise: Prior experience with industrial control panels, switchgear, or motor control centers (MCC).
- Technical Literacy: Expert at reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Leadership Ability: Proven ability to communicate clearly, coordinate a team’s workflow, and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Red Seal: Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certificate considered an asset
Mobility: Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle for occasional site visits.

Pay: From $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
