Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Technologist) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders, ensuring patient comfort, and accurately recording sleep data. This role requires a strong understanding of sleep physiology and technical skills to operate specialized equipment. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures and ensuring proper placement of sensors and equipment
- Conduct overnight polysomnography recordings, monitoring patients throughout the sleep cycle
- Accurately document sleep patterns, breathing events, and other relevant physiological data
- Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues during sleep studies
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret data and contribute to diagnosis and treatment planning
Skills
- Proficiency in operating polysomnography equipment and related technology
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to sleep medicine and physiology
- Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures to patients and working within a healthcare team
- Ability to remain attentive and focused during overnight shifts, managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring a positive experience during sleep studies
- Prior experience or certification in sleep technology is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
