Overview
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure including recommendation and decision making on systems adhering to organizational values. Additionally, the SA will consult with customers and users to make informed recommendations/decisions on hardware and software meeting specification and performance criteria. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and Partners.
Duties
System Provisioning
- Install new/rebuild existing servers/Workstations/laptops and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Install and configure various software applications
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
- Set up printers and plotters as per Engineering application needs
- Contribute to and maintain system standards
- Deploy and maintain customer configuration database for critical applications
Operations and Support
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders
- Co-ordinate with customer IT teams for application access requests and problem resolutions
- Co-ordinate and help Network Operations team for network and telecom outage
- Identify and create a test plan for new technology and systems
- Create, enforce, and maintain IT Security standards for all IT assets
Maintenance
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary
- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
- Manage IT Assets, including request and report renewals for HW-SW maintenance
Skills
- ·Associates degree or higher preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows and SCCM
- Experience with using IT service management tools like Service Now or Cherwell
- 1 Year of experience in supporting Engineering applications
- Experience working for an Engineering Services/Product companies.
- Demonstrated experience in scripting and SW tool development.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $82,000.00-$87,000.00 per year
