Mopify is an on-demand marketplace for home services that’s headquartered here in Ottawa and we’re looking to expand our development team.
The majority of our development stack is based on PHP/Laravel and we currently house data in postgreSQL. Our core philosophy is to automate everything possible while following an agile methodology of continuous improvement.
Above all else, we strive to come up with simple solutions to complex problems.
Develop web and server applications to spec while paying attention to detail in a small team environment. You will be at the center of the entire design and development lifecycle – from user stories to project planning to execution and delivery.
- 2+ years experience in a professional development role
- Computer Science degree or equivalent educational/work background
- Experience building web apps (major bonus is you've built with PHP/Laravel)
- HTML/CSS
Javascript - - experience with JS frameworks a plus (jquery, react, angular, etc.)
- SQL
- Comfortable in Linux / MacOS development environment
- Experience using software version control systems
- Server administration / cloud server admin / database server admin / web server admin
- Experience consuming and building RESTful APIs
- Self-starter
- Flexible / adaptable
- Self-learner
- Resourceful
- Ideally have past experience in a startup / small team
- Thorough / great attention to detail / see things through to completion
- Appreciation of the importance of great UX
