Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight and heavy equipment across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to utilize skills in forklift operation, automotive repair, and heavy equipment handling. The position offers a dynamic work environment where attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate DZ licensed trucks for the transportation of freight, heavy equipment, and other materials.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for all shipments.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and minor automotive repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transportation duties.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Operate additional heavy machinery or equipment as required for specific tasks or projects.
Requirements
- Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and perform basic automotive repairs is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and heavy equipment operation.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and operate heavy machinery efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to strict safety standards. This role is vital for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.
Must have 5 years of experience or more.
