OVERALL PURPOSE:
Provides support to safety program, policy development and implementation.
Provides general coordination and administrative support to the safety department.
Liaises with the training department in the development of safety related training materials and ensures they are aligned with regulatory and safety program requirements.
Provides communications for the programs and services provided by the Safety, Environment and Emergency Management department.
Promotes the programs; responds to employee, management, and other internal or external stakeholder inquiries; and interpreting the policies, procedures and the collective agreement provisions Supports and coordinates the implementation of incident investigation and audit compliances.
Provides support to managers and supervisors to facilitate the implementation of programs in different departments.
Supports the development of the metrics to track and measure the program implementation.
Provides feedback on program performance to relevant stakeholders; monitors the corrective actions.
