Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. POSITION SUMMARY
This role is intentionally designed to:

The Superintendent of Education will work closely alongside the other Superintendents of Education and the Superintendent of Business, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, to advance strategic priorities while providing leadership to central positions as well as schools, instructional leadership, and governance contexts.
Key Responsibilities
The Superintendent of Education will demonstrate:

Cocreation and monitoring of Board Student Achievement Plan

Support all schools in achieving Student Achievement Plan goals

Monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of school and system improvement plans

Build capacity in instructional leadership, assessment, and responsive practice
Portfolio Leadership
Provide coordination and leadership support for:

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
-
Supervisory Officer's Certificate (or ability to commence qualifications immediately)
-
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Principal
-
Experience leading school improvement and system-level initiatives
-
Knowledge and/or experience in mental health, safe schools, and/or special education
-
Experience or interest in digital leadership, AI integration, or innovation in teaching and learning
-
Strong understanding of both elementary and secondary education

Demonstrated leadership aligned with the Ontario Leadership Framework
