Job Title: Lift Technician – Saskatoon, SK
We are looking for a Lift Technician to join our team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will join our skilled and hardworking team of technicians providing service for automotive lifts, wheel and tire servicing equipment, and other garage equipment throughout Saskatchewan.
This position is ideal for a responsible, highly motivated professional who is interested in advancing their career in the automotive equipment industry. It is well suited to someone who enjoys learning how systems work and has an interest in diagnosing, repairing, building, and rebuilding equipment.
The equipment serviced by our Lift Division includes automotive and heavy-duty vehicle lifts, alignment machines, tire changers, wheel balancers, lubrication equipment, vehicle damage-detection cameras, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, inspect, and service automotive lifts, wheel and tire equipment, and other garage equipment.
- Complete equipment installations, deliveries, customer demonstrations, and operational training.
- Conduct diagnostic testing of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify faults, malfunctions, and performance concerns.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Once deemed competent, assist with training and supporting new personnel.
- Manage and maintain the mobile parts inventory stored in the company service vehicle.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Requirements & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience or certification as a lift, alignment machine, or wheel service equipment technician.
- Aptitude for working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Strong understanding of safe equipment maintenance and repair practices.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, including energy isolation and the control of stored energy.
- Previous training in fall protection and ladder safety.
- Previous certification or experience in scissor lift and forklift operation.
- Commitment to continuous learning and gaining experience with new equipment and technologies.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and evolving work requirements.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean three-year driver’s abstract.
- Experience pulling a trailer for equipment transportation.
- A Class 3 driver’s licence is preferred but not required.
- Experience loading, offloading, and securing equipment.
- Ability to work after hours and travel as required.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Related Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Ability to travel to customer sites locally and out of town, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and offload heavy equipment.
- Ability to independently lift, carry, and manoeuvre equipment and parts weighing up to 75 pounds and push or pull loads weighing up to 1,500 pounds.
- Ability to use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and accurately track Hours of Service (HOS).
- Adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and customer-site requirements.
- Proper use, care, and maintenance of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Employment Type & Compensation:
- $27.00–$37.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
