Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Test Technician / Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Mississauga. In this role, you will assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot, and support the development of custom electrical and automated test systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with experience in electrical or electro-mechanical assembly, PCB assembly, soldering, and SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire electrical and electro-mechanical systems using schematics and work instructions
- Build control panels, subassemblies, test equipment, and complete electrical systems
- Perform PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings
- Perform inspections, point-to-point wiring checks, and quality verification
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and repairs
- Assist with the assembly of mechanical frames and testing equipment
- Complete production, quality, and inventory documentation
- Maintain inventory and support material tracking
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Travel within the GTA as required for installation, testing, and service work
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician, or a related field
- Previous experience in electrical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, PCB assembly, or test technician roles
- Hands-on experience with PCB soldering, component installation, and board troubleshooting
- Experience using SolidWorks for reviewing or interpreting mechanical designs is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assembling automated test systems
- Knowledge of control panels, instrumentation, and electrical testing equipment
- Experience with SolidWorks, PCB design/assembly, and electronic manufacturing processes
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
