Join us as a Landscape Technician. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining beautiful landscapes and supporting our company's commitment to excellence.
This position is based in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. It isMonday to Friday, beginning at 6:45am arrival to headquarters. Will be responsible for supporting a wide range of projects, from small to large in scale, and collaborating with both small and larger teams on more time-intensive, dedicated work.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a landscape/hardscape crew.
- Collaborate with team members on projects and schedules.
- Read, follow and execute job plans with crew.
- Loading and unloading tools and materials as required.
- Assist with job/site preparation including excavation, grading, clearing of debris.
- Safely operate equipment including truck and trailer, skid steer, excavator, mini excavator, tractor.
- General landscaping duties including raking, mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, pruning, edging, shoveling, etc.
- Install, maintain and transplant plants, shrubs and trees.
- Fertilizing, liming, aerating, dethatching, spraying.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain garden areas by checking for pests and diseases.
- Install and maintain hardscaping features like patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls and French drains using proper industry techniques.
- Maintain daily project logs and documentation, according to company policy.
- Some Heavy Lifting (10-50lbs).
- Minor repairs (if necessary - will be discussed).
- Ensure stock is kept full & advise management when running low.
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicable experience is an asset &/or landscape diploma/certificates is an asset
- Plant, shrub, tree knowledge is an asset
- Own reliable transportation to headquarters
- Valid NS drivers license
- CSA Approved footwear & additional PPE
- First Aid & WHMIS
- Punctual, Reliable & Trustworthy
- Work time efficiently, with ability to problem solve
- Physically Able to do the required labour work
- Applicable Work References required
