Job Overview
We are hiring a Daycare Cook to join our team starting May 25, 2026. The successful candidate have to prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks in accordance with the daycare menu, children's dietary needs, and Alberta Health Services food safety standards.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of safe food handling practices and hold a valid FOOD SAFETY/ FOOD HANDLER CERTIFICATE. Experience working in a childcare or in similar setting is an asset.
Duties
- Maintaining the kitchen in compliance with Alberta Health Services and daycare Licensing expectations.
- Prepare and serve nutritious snacks and meals, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Assist with meal preparation, including cooking and food handling as needed
- Maintaining accurate temperature logs and kitchen cleaning records.
- Monitoring expiry dates and maintaining kitchen inventory.
- Cleaning and sanitizing counters, sinks, appliances, dishes, utensils, cupboards, and food preparation areas.
- Knowledge of allergies and dietary restrictions.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food safety or food handling certificate is required.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable sector Search is required.
- Comfortable working in a childcare environment.
Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
