Position Summary
As an Shipper/Receiver/Inside sales representative, the position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service.
You will be responsible for sales growth of industrial gases and hardgoods at the branch level. You will develop strong relationships with branch staff and customers, by promoting our range of value-added products and services to the retail market and keep our stock up to date and in place ready for our customers.
Responsibilities
Shipping:
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring all items are correctly labeled and packaged to prevent damage.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using appropriate software and systems.
- Schedule and coordinate shipments with various carriers, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
- Verify shipment contents against shipping documents and packing slips.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Load and secure shipments onto delivery vehicles.
Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities and conditions against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Accurately record received items into inventory management systems.
- Unload and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.
- Process returns and damaged goods according to company procedures.
Sales/Deliveries
- Deliver Hardgoods and Cylinders as required in Gasco provided company vehicles to customers.
- Responsible for the efficient processing of customer orders, responding to walk-in and telephone sales orders and product inquiries.
- Process all cash, charge, and credit card orders and amending orders for invoicing.
- Works closely with and provides sales support to the outside sales team.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate product, equipment, and/or programs to Branch customers.
Training
- Keeping up to date on new products and services by attending training sessions
Communication
- Communicating efficiently with other branch personnel as required
Other Duties
- Performs warehouse duties (shipping and receiving) and moving cylinders for customers.
- Back-up for deliveries as needed.
- Assist with loading/unloading Gasco route trucks when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
