Technician – Wash Bay (Part Time)
Shift: Saturday & Sunday (10:00 AM – 06:00 PM)

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Technician – Wash Bay to join the Maintenance & Shop BC facility. This position supports shop operations by ensuring vehicles and trailers are clean, safe, and ready for service. The incumbent contributes to fleet availability and efficient turnaround by maintaining wash bay and yard standards, ensuring clear identification of unit status, and working within established safety and operational procedures while supporting coordination between shop staff and drivers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interior Cleaning: Perform detailed cleaning of vehicle and trailer interiors using approved tools and methods. Vacuum, shampoo, and deodorize interiors to required cleanliness standards, applying cleaning chemicals according to instructions and safety guidelines while inspecting work for quality.

Exterior Washing: Wash and detail vehicle and trailer exteriors using pressure washers and hand tools. Clean windows, mirrors, lights, wheels, mats, and exterior surfaces, finishing units to meet appearance and safety standards while operating wash bay equipment safely and efficiently.

Safety Practices: Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free wash bay and work area, handle cleaning products and waste according to guidelines, and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly.

Unit Coordination: Accurately tag clean and dirty units to support yard and driver operations. Coordinate work priorities with shop staff and supervisors, completing assigned tasks within required timelines to support efficient turnaround and communicating any delays.

Work Logging: Record completed work using required forms or tracking tools. Ensure documentation supports internal tracking and billing processes. Verify accuracy and completeness of service records according to established procedures.

Shop Support: Maintain the cleanliness of the shop, yard, and surrounding areas. Assist with snow removal, de-icing, fueling vehicles/trailers as assigned, and general housekeeping or basic support tasks as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required.

No experience is required; entry-level applicants are welcome.

Valid Class G (or provincial equivalent) driver’s license is an asset.

Experience in the transportation industry is preferred.

Experience and understanding of cleaning and detailing commercial vehicles, trailers, and reefers is an asset.

Ability to safely use basic wash bay tools, equipment, and cleaning products.

Ability to wash trailers & reefers and clean shop area.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety rules and procedures.

Basic verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
