Specific Skills
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who perform Environmental Services.
Budgeting for each department.
Co-ordinate Health and Safety Committee, prepare and submit reports.
Establish work schedules for both departments.
Ensure compliance with all Long Term Care regulations and established Agency Policies, Develop new policies where/when required
Work closely with residents and family members in regard to residents’ diet
Work with and responds to Ministry of Health and Long-term care/ Public Health requirements.
Utilize Sysco in ordering ingredients and supplies, Ensure food delivery service and quality control.
Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage, Prepare and submit reports.
Supervise and check delivery of food/environmental supplies.
Work closely with Activation Department, including resident council to facilitate special events/themed dinning experiences
Sysco menu planning software knowledge is an asset.
Experience with Point Click Care is an asset. Documentation in relation to resident dietary requirements/issues etc.
Hire food service staff/environmental service staff if required
Assist in the training of new staff

Graduate Food Service Management, or equivalent must be a member in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management.
