Pacific Autism Family Network has openings at our Service Centre in Richmond (3688 Cessna Drive - in person work on location) for Behavior Interventionists who are looking for a positive, rewarding opportunity to provide program inclusion support for both male and female adults on the autism spectrum.
We are looking for:
A. 2 positions - Full Time Behavior Interventionist who is available and committed to a fixed work from Monday to Friday between 900 am to 300 pm, 30 hours per week.
B. Part Time / Casual Behavior Interventionist who is available to work 2 to 3 days per week (up to 6 -7.5 hours per day), and/or on-call (to cover absences).
The JET program is a high expectation learning experience set in a day program format, Monday to Fridays 0900 - 1500 weekdays ONLY (close on weekends and statutory holidays).
Our clients participate in individualized, goal-based activities that evolve with the changing needs of the individuals and the group. The primary focus is the use of current best practice strategies to maximize learning, make meaningful changes and build capacity for our clients to work towards successful living in the community.
These are ideal opportunities for those who are or plan to enroll in an intensive ABA program as the working hours may qualify as supervised BI hours.
General Duties of position:
- Implementation of individualized curriculum and behavior plans for adults attending the program
- Collects data, based on data collection standard procedures.
- Receives supervision from professional consultants for each individual client.
- Participates in on-going training program which provides instructions on principles of ABA
- Completes job related duties as directed, includes cleaning and attending team meetings and training.
Preference given to individuals with previous experience but not required as training will be provided.
The preferred candidate(s) will:
- be a team player with positive attitude, willingness to follow regulations and exercise good judgement
- have the experience working with neurodivergent individuals
- be legally entitled to and ready to work in Canada (existing holders with open UNRESTRICTED ( no restriction in both working hours and industry) employment authorization already in place are welcome
- be willing to provide and complete, as condition of employment, a current criminal record check if you are selected as candidate for reference checks, new guidelines CRC must be completed before employment starts. Must have BC Services Card readily available to complete)
- have Standard First AID and CPR C (Basic First AID - equivalent to OFA level 1)
- have WHIMIS (nice to have already)
- have Food Safety Basic Level (nice to have)
- have a Valid BC Driver's license, preferably Class 4 (nice to have)
- have excellent and clear communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Employment terms:
- Both Full Time and Permanent Part Time positions remuneration will start at $24.32 per hour, paid on semi-monthly basis. Statutory holiday pay (after 30 days employment.
- After successful completion of probationary period, pay will be adjusted to $25.36 per hour
- Full Time position has Paid Sick Leave (10 days per calendar year, prorated from start date) and Paid Vacation leave (10 days per calendar year, prorated from start date).
- Part Time position has standard BC Employment Standards sick leave (after 90 days of employment), plus 4% vacation pay payable on gross earnings.
- Extended health benefits will be offered to Full Time Position
