Hours: Permanent full-time – generally 30 to 37.5 hours per week with 7.5 hour days.
Compensation:$22.00/hr (plus a competitive benefit package, including a bonus paid vacation week at winter break, extended health, Dental Health Spending Account, and Personal Wellness Days.)

The Victoria Conservatory of Music is looking for a reliable individual to join our Facilities team in a full-time capacity. This individual will be a key part of the team that helps deliver a clean and vibrant space for the community to gather, study, enrich, and enjoy.
- Keeping building and property in clean and orderly condition.
- Performing routine cleaning activities, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors.
- Scrubbing, sanitizing, and suppling restroom facilities.
- Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions.
- Preparing and mixing cleaning solutions.
- Setting up rooms and equipment for classes and lessons.
Facilitating room entry/control of faculty and students.

- Ability to multi-task and exercise good judgment when prioritizing assigned duties.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with management.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a range of people from different backgrounds.
- Strong work ethic, combining energy and stamina.
- Understanding of and commitment to creating a work environment that is inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible.
High level of professionalism with good judgement and discretion.

- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and objects.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for periods of time.
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
- Communication skills.
- Building Service Worker Level 1 / WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training/certificate considered an asset.
- A friendly and helpful personality who will interact professionally with students, concertgoers, faculty, staff.
