The Provincial Library and Literacy Office is seeking a leader with knowledge of First Nations and Métis peoples and expertise in public library services to develop, co-ordinate and implement policies and programs related to Indigenous library services in Saskatchewan public libraries.
Reporting to the Director of Public Library Planning, this position works within a team of library service coordinators to provide policy and service support to the provincial public library system in Saskatchewan. You will bring to this position a knowledge of First Nations and Métis peoples’ history, cultures, aspirations and governance issues to establish positive and productive relationships between public libraries and Indigenous people province wide.
The successful candidate will provide province-wide leadership working with the 11 public library systems across the province to assist them to develop library resources, programs and services that are culturally appropriate for First Nations and Métis people in Saskatchewan. You will have strong research and communications skills to support the development of province-wide policy. In addition, you will be a strategic thinker and have expertise with consensus building.
The ideal candidate will have gained the required knowledge and abilities through completion of an undergraduate degree and relevant experience. Knowledge of public library policy, programs and services, and/or related experience would be considered an asset.
Preference for persons with Bilingual, English and French, will be considered an asset.
