Overview
We are seeking a skilled Compounding technician/Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor all raw material augers and hoppers at required levels
- Safely operate compound production lines (Start up, Shut down, Changeover)
- Safely operate compounding equipment
- Safely operate pelletizing extruders and maintain material levels.
- Assist Compound Lead hand personnel, as required
- Perform material handling, storage, shipping, receiving, and packaging of finished goods
- Safely operate forklift
- Evaluate product quality and adjust if required
- Monitor processing conditions and report discrepancies
- Complete required checklists, reports, and other documentation.
- Keep work area clean and free of hazards
- Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards
- Report all spills, incidents and / or hazards.
- Adhere to environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate and/or cooperate with Emergency Response.
- Comply with divisional recycling program.
- Comply with divisional disposal/waste management programs.
- Comply with established safety rules and company policies procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Experience in operating equipment, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Able to communicate in English effectively (read, write, verbal and aural comprehension)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and control systems
- Self-starter who is able to achieve customer satisfaction by meeting commitments and taking accountability; being willing to cross-train to gain additional skills and use job knowledge; and taking a common-sense approach to problem-solving
- Must work well under pressure; able to work productively both independently with minimum supervision and on a team to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt quickly to new procedures, equipment and other workplace changes
- Customer-oriented attitude with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and delivery
