General Manager
Tofino & Ucluelet, BC | Full-time, immediate start
Jamie's Whaling Station — BC's first commercial whale watching company, founded 1982 — is
seeking a General Manager to run our year-round eco-tourism operation at Tofino and Ucluelet
on Vancouver Island. Reports directly to the owner.
This is a drop-in role with no handover. The management team is in place and the systems are
running — we need a self-starter who can take the wheel from day one.
You'll run:
- Both locations, fleet operations, office and admin
- A 12-vessel fleet from 30-foot Zodiacs and hardtop crew boats up to 65-foot vessels
- The management team — Marine Operations, desk staff supervisor, maintenance
- Budgets, financial performance, safety compliance, marketing, and supplier relationships
You bring:
- 3–5 years' leadership experience in tourism or hospitality
- Strong conflict resolution skills and a level head
- Financial acumen and budget management
- Eco-tourism, marine, or vessel experience preferred
- FareHarbor and Google/Bing Ads experience an asset
- Valid driver's licence; willing to live in Tofino or Ucluelet
We offer:
- $80,000–$100,000 depending on experience
