Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chemistry and Biology Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemistry and Biology education, with a focus on teaching of Grade 12 Chemistry and Biology courses. This role involves working closely with international students to support their development, implement effective classroom management strategies, and contribute to curriculum development that aligns with educational standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Grade 12 Chemistry and Biology course outlines, lesson plans that promote learning and development.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students.
- Conduct assessments of 10 written assignments and to unit tests, a final exam and a culminating prject to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Lead and facilitate Project-based learning learning projects.
- Collaborate with parents, form teachers, and other educators to support academic intervention strategies.
- Complete first and final school report cards for each and every course, complete the markbook of every course assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of best practices in education.
Requirements
- Proven experience in high school settings, with a strong understanding of international students' ESL teaching environment and inttlectual development principles.
- Familiarity with STEAM Education and Project-based learning methods or other educational frameworks is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain order while fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored to the needs of international high school students.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to address various challenges in the classroom.
- A commitment to promoting international students' welfare and creating inclusive educational experiences for all students.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
