Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized and proactive Operations Supervisor to join our team. This critical role is responsible for managing fleet maintenance and driver operations, as well as providing close support to warehouse operations. The Operations Supervisor closely supports the Operations Manager to provide valuable insights and suggestions on strategic improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
Driving Team:
- Provide training to new and existing drivers that align with company processes and values.
- Offer regular feedback and conduct performance reviews for the Driving Team.
- Lead and document driver meetings and monitor driver performance.
- Manage customer escalations related to driver conduct and collaborate with the Operations Manager on conflict resolution and disciplinary measures.
- Coordinate driver schedules, holidays, and coverage with Dispatch and the Operations Manager.
- Act on feedback regarding driver performance to ensure excellence in service delivery.
- Manage and run the hiring process for new drivers.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively take part in OHS committee meetings.
- Manage all aspects of driver Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Fleet Maintenance:
- Oversee emergency repairs and prioritize fleet needs effectively.
- Manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure vehicle records, maintenance schedules, repair tracking, fleet insurance, and ICBC claims are up-to-date.
- Maintain vehicle compliance with required inspections and proper decals.
- Review daily pre-trip inspections and address any reported defects.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee warehouse preventative maintenance schedules and quality standards.
- Support the Warehouse Supervisor in organizing corrective maintenance requiring external services.
- Assist in scheduling and resource allocation for efficient daily operations.
- Participate in the hiring process for new warehouse staff.
- Contribute to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) review, improve, and add new SOPs where necessary
Dispatch:
- Supervise the Dispatcher and provide guidance on fleet and driver decisions.
- Review routing weekly to optimize resources, customer service, and efficiency.
- Assist with route optimization projects and support Dispatch duties when required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum two years leadership experience in an operational setting.
- Minimum two years experience in fleet management or commercial truck maintenance.
- Experience driving and operating commercial vehicles - must currently hold a valid Class 5 license.
- Experience in the waste management industry is an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of Lean methodologies is an asset.
- Able to compile and analyse data to create concise, informative reports
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and scheduling.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and customer service.
- Familiarity with OHS standards and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Email etc.).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $56,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
