Role and Responsibilities
Are you a Certified Teacher (OCT) looking for a rewarding part-time teaching position in Waterloo, Ontario? ICAN Education – Waterloo is seeking an in-centre English Teacher to teach students in grades 1 - 12 to continue to develop their English literacy skills in person in one-on-one and/or in a small group session at the ICan Education learning centre.
Job Duties Include
- The teacher will support students’ continued acquisition of their English language literacy skills.
- Teach students in person at the ICan Education learning centre in Waterloo.
- Teach elementary and high school students.
- Assess students’ abilities and help modify lessons according to students’ needs.
- Complete periodic reporting, attend meetings and training as required.
- Participate in student review sessions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- OCT Teacher is preferred
- Experience with SAT and/or SSAT
- Experience working with students with learning challenges
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum related to English language

- Classes are from Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm and/or Saturdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in Waterloo, Ontario.
- Training and ongoing support is provided for the selected candidates.
