The Steward is a part-time position under the Culinary department, reporting to the Executive Chef. The working hours will vary from morning, afternoon, evening and weekday/weekend shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all dishes and other service ware
- Operating an automatic dish machine
- Assisting banquet team with organization of service ware for functions
- Washing of cooking utensils and pots
- Assisting culinary team with various food preparation tasks
- Maintaining recycling area, disposing of garbage and wet waste from the culinary department
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and understanding of WHMIS
- Food Safe Level 1 required
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Self starter, take initiative
- Able to be exposed to cleaning chemicals
- Desire to work in a team based environment
- Previous experience in a hotel environment is an asset
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $29.15 per hour
