A Vancouver-based strata and rental building management company that provides third party services to clients, is looking to hire a Finance Director to oversee its financial operations and staff.
Role Description
The Finance Director is responsible for supervising and leading the financial operations of the company while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of client financials and records. This role oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, trust accounting, maintains and improves internal controls, and cash management.
The Finance Director works closely with property managers, accounting staff, auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting for the company and its clients.
The Finance Director is a hands-on contributor who oversees the day-to-day accounting functions and helps improve and track financial processes and monthly deliverables.
Work Performed:
Oversee the accounting for multiple strata corporations, rental clients and their trust accounts.
Review client financial statements for accuracy, completeness within the required timelines.
Ensure accurate allocation of owner assessments, special levies, and operating expenses.
Lead and closely supervise a motivated and customer-service oriented finance team to deliver financial information that is relevant, timely, accurate and complete.
Evaluate, track and improve accounting processes, procedures and internal controls.
Support strata managers in interpreting financial reports and annual budgeting.
Qualifications:
· CPA designation (or working toward designation) preferred.
· 5 Years minimum in a similar property management role including Finance Manager or Supervisor, Controller, Assistant Controller or senior accountant role.
- Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experienced supervisor of staff including strong communication and motivational skills
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn accounting management software (Condo Manager) are needed.
