About Bank & Baron
Located in a historic former bank on Stephen Avenue, Bank & Baron is one of downtown Calgary’s most distinctive restaurant and event venues.
Our kitchen supports daily restaurant service, large corporate functions, private events, and high-volume weekends. We are looking for a reliable Dishwasher who takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly.
The Role
The Dishwasher plays an important role in the success of our kitchen. You will keep dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment clean and ready for service while maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
This role requires consistency, urgency, teamwork, and the ability to stay organized during busy services.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher
- Keep the dish area clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Return clean items to their correct storage areas
- Remove garbage, recycling, and compost throughout the shift
- Maintain clean floors, drains, sinks, walls, and work surfaces
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning and closing duties
- Follow proper chemical-handling and sanitation procedures
- Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify a manager when stock is low
- Support cooks with basic food preparation when required
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries
- Follow all food-safety, workplace-safety, and cleanliness standards
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen team during busy service
- Complete assigned opening, shift-change, and closing duties
Qualifications
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset, but not required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive prepared for scheduled shifts
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Able to follow instructions and established kitchen procedures
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working around heat, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, and wet floors
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to commute to downtown Calgary
