Your Opportunity:
The Surgical Processor is responsible for performing and documenting a full range of duties which include decontaminating; assembling; packaging; sterilizing; storing and distributing sterile instruments (including the most highly complex instruments), supplies and non-sterile equipment for patient care units such as the operating room, reprocessing endo scopes according to prescribed standards, approved procedures and techniques and following infection control and safety protocols. Must have current experience in a tertiary hospital setting with a full case cart system. Knowledge of the fundamentals of anatomy, aseptic technique, infection control, and stock rotation is essential. The successful candidate must possess the ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions. The incumbent must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in completing tasks and be able to work with a high degree of independence, confidentiality, accuracy, accountability, and perform any other related duties as assigned. Description:
As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
